Does OverlayAI store or upload my video?
No. OverlayAI only captures audio from your local device and sends it to the translation provider you choose. We do not store, distribute, or provide any video content.
Can I use my own API key for free?
Yes. The Free / BYOK plan lets you enter your own DashScope, Azure, OpenAI, Mistral, or Xunfei keys. You pay those providers directly for usage.
Which languages are supported?
Source languages include English, Japanese, Korean, and more. Target languages include Chinese (Simplified), English, and others depending on the provider.
Why am I not seeing subtitles?
Check that your default playback device is selected in OverlayAI settings, that audio is actually playing, and that your provider key or subscription is valid. See the Troubleshooting guide for more.
How many devices can I use?
Pro accounts support up to 2 devices online at the same time. Free/BYOK accounts have no device limit.
